Go Camping in Kenya

Camping is an independent way of traveling and spending a night anywhere you feel secure. I realized that the best way to go on holiday was to go to Kenya; a country known as the best safari destination in the world.

Kenya camping safaris can be done either as an individual or as in a group.  It start with the masai mara national reserve that boarders serengeti national park in Tanzania.  Then an afternoon game drive meals and overnight at the camp.  The whole next day can be spent exploring the park famous for the great migration and the big five wildlife the later Meals and overnight at the camp.

On the third day you drive along the great rift valley to lake nakuru national park, the home to million flamingos and many other species of birds.then Meals and overnight at the camp.  You can spend the morning exploring the beautiful park as only elephant is an absentee in this park.

So if you finally decide to go for a camping safari in Kenya just know that the itinerary will be looking a bit more or less like this on. But don’t forget the variation in the number of days realy varies and its also very important.

A sample of a detailed camping safari itinerary (5 Days | 4 Nights Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara camping safari)

Day 1: Nairobi/masai Mara

Depart Nairobi in the Morning 0900 hours for masai mara passing through the dramatic Great Rift Valley stopping at the view point, Ascend the western rim of the valley crossing the loita plains (masai-land),see red-clad masai warriors tend their multi-colored herds amongst plains game. Lunch enroute.Arrive Mara for dinner and overnight at Camp site.

Day: 2 & 3. masai Mara

Morning and afternoon game viewing inside the Park. Search for wild game black manned lion for which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you, hyenas are plentiful, Extend one of your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippo submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to shot and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sun bathe on the river banks mouths agape. Between meals there is optional visit to the masai villages for an insight to their culture if clients so wish later Meals and overnight at Camp site.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park

Breakfast at campsite and depart for Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch at campsite. Lake Nakuru is referred as pink lake for it’s thousands of pink flamingos and other bird life-it’s a bird watchers paradise. It has a surprisingly number of animals, it is a rhino sanctuary and the “Big Five except the elephant can be seen here, afternoon game drive .Dinner and overnight at Camp site. (B,L,D).Day 5.Nairobi.Breakfast at campsite and depart with game viewing enroute as you proceed for the main Narok Road arriving Nairobi late afternoon.
